Guilds UK Meet Guilds USA

This workshop brings together the leading guilds in the UK (Directors Guild, Production Guild, Writers Guild and Equity) with their counterparts in the USA. Using the Equalities Charter for Film as a foundation, the aim of this informal workshop is to share knowledge, good practice, strategy and explore potential collaborations.

In addition to the guilds noted above, the invitaiton is extended to the Leadership on Diversity Forum as a whole.

Commissioned by the UK Film Council and produced by photographer Donald MacLellan, Want to see more of me? is a collection of beautifully taken portraits of some of the most talented and successful Black actors in the UK including Ashley Walters, Noel Clarke, Sophie Okonedo, Claire-Hope Ashitey, Marianne Jean-Baptiste, Colin Salmon and Chiwetel Ejiofor.

Following a series of successful panel discussions and showcases in both Cannes and the Screen writers festival in Cheltenham and raising the profile of the talent and the execs who have made a difference commissioning multi-ethnic film product, the UK Film Council is holding an exclusive reception with the acting talent featured and a selected audience of our industries leading executives as we say a big 'Thank You' to the talent for taking part.

The aim of the Want to see more of me? exhibition is to celebrate our achievements to date in terms of increasing on screen diversity from an ethnic perpective by raising the profile of the best home grown acting talent from the black community.

Want to see more of me? is a collection of portraits of talented and successful black actors in the UK. Commissioned by the UK Film Council and produced by Donald Maclellan.

Want to see more of me? aims to raise the profile of home-grown talent, celebrate successes to-date and explore solutions to some of the challenges we as an industry face in terms of on-screen diversity.

Leadership on Diversity Forum - Equalities Charter for Film Workshop

The Workshop, which took place on 12 January 2007 officially, launched this web site as well as the Innovation fund. The outcomes of the 2006 Tracker survey were shared and successful programmes and practices being undertaken by Forum members were celebrated. Future projects and collaborative working across member organisations were discussed and foundations were laid for taking these projects forward. Feedback regarding the the day has been extremely positive and the workshop approach has been praised for creating the right environment to allow open discussion and forward planning.
